Suicide awareness month is a time dedicated to bring attention to a topic that is not discussed enough. This is recognized during the month of September in the United States. World Suicide Prevention Day is the 10th of September. According to the World Health Organization 703,000 people take their life each year worldwide. For each suicide, approximately 20 attempts are made. The theme for World Prevention Suicide Day is “creating hope through action”. Jessica takes this episode to discuss signs someone may be contemplating suicide, what to do if you suspect someone is at risk for attempting suicide, and resources available to all. She also covers the story of Kevin Hines.
